Welcome back to my blog! Todays blog will be a about formal hairstyles. Formal hairstyles are an important aspect of hairstyling as they are vital for big occasions such as prom, weddings, graduations formals and much more! What's so great about them is that they can be achieved on all hair textures and lengths. In todays article I really want to help you find the style that would most compliment your face shape. As you might already know there are five head shapes: Oval, Round, Square, oblong and Heart. Choosing the correct style is an easy process and I want to share some key points for you to consider.
Oval oval face typically has a longer shape with a narrow chin. Celebrity Jessica Alba and Alicia Keys both have this shape face. For this face shape I would suggest a braided side bun or a cheek loose pony tail, both are sophisticated styles to wear to your nest event. The aim of both these styles is to add some width to the sides of the face. Round A round face appears round at the cheeks which give the face a circular shape, the face is heaviest near the ears so the aim of styling is to slim the face down. Drew Barrymore and Charlotte Church both have round faces. For this shape an asymmetrical bob with short uneven layers are a great way to add more definition to the face, when done with a side part this style will help to elongate the face. This style works well for a formal occasion as the length of the hair won't overshadow the beauty of your outfit. Square Square face shapes appear to have broad foreheads and strong jawline. Celebrity Angelina Jolie has this shape face. Centre part to knot can help add height to the face, by leaving some flyaways down you can soften your square shape. Another style is a French twist updo and side swept curls are two classic looks which are very complimentary to share face shapes. Oblong Oblong face shapes tend to appear longer than other shapes, especially the forehead and chin. Celebrities Karrie Underwood and Kelly Rowland both have this shape. Retro curls create an elegant look on oblong faces, a great way to styles is to sweep the hair to one side, pinning behind one ear and allow the curls to sit across the other shoulder. Slicked down straight centre parting is also a good look, pushing the hair behind the ears can helot make the face look wider. Heart Heart shape faces appear with a wide forehead with narrower cheek bones, slim jawline and pointed chin. Braids are a great style for heart shaped faces , this is a fashion forward hairstyle that has been seen on many celebrities and bloggers. Braids look really great with chunkier hair, so a great way to add more volume is to add some hair extensions.
